In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
"Indeed, we belong to God and to Him we shall return"

The news of the passing of the eminent religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Haj Sheikh Ishaq Fayyaz (may his soul rest in peace), has caused profound grief and plunged the Islamic seminaries—particularly the Holy Seminary of Najaf—into mourning.

His decades-long presence at the Holy Seminary of Najaf, his years of learning at the feet of its great scholars, including the late Ayatollah Seyyed Abolqasem Khoei, his tireless efforts in training students, authoring scholarly works, overseeing the academic affairs of the seminary, and guiding the faithful—these represent only a fraction of the enduring legacy of this jurist, which will not be forgotten and whose righteous fruits shall remain, God willing.

I extend my condolences on this painful loss to the Islamic Seminary of Najaf, to all the followers and admirers of the departed Marja', and especially to the steadfast and resilient nation of Afghanistan and his noble family. I beseech God Almighty to grant the departed scholar elevated ranks and to raise him in the company of the righteous, and to bestow upon the bereaved patience and abundant reward.

Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei
